The current Coronavirus crisis has forced us to question our priorities and realise what and who we should most value from now on.
Like all the key workers in the NHS and other essential services, RNLI crew volunteers are also people we should applaud and admire.
Like us, lifeboat crews are living with the stress of social distancing and economic uncertainty but unlike us they continue to be ready, willing and able to drop everything and go to sea to save lives.
That is why the crew members are especially inspired by your support at the moment.
As lifeboat volunteer Dave Riley posted in a recent video:
‘..the thing that keeps us going is your support…because you’re part of the crew, and crew members look out for each other. So on behalf of the lifesavers, thank you so much for thinking of us in the past. Right now we are thinking of you too.’
At the moment our branch fund-raising activities are paused but RNLI Lifeboats are still fully operational . We are exploring ways to continue our support during the crisis and if you have any ideas please feel free to E-Mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
